Things take a turn for the surreal when an unassuming historians starts writing scripts ...

Hi everyone,

My day job is Professor of History but I've lately started writing plays and scripts for the screen. My first play, a comedy called The Contrarian, will have a professional rehearsed reading ta the Drayton Arms Theatre, London, on 2 October. Please come! I've also written a pilot for a sitcom called Something Borrowed. The logline is: "A dowdy new manager arrives from the big city with an ostensible mission to drag a small-town library into the modern age. But things get complicated when her co-workers uncover her secret agent past."

I look forward to meeting you.

"Something Borrowed" sounds great, Richard Toye! I definitely want to see it on streaming or TV.

Hi there, Richard. Wow, what a rich catalogue of potential stories you must have - history. I love stories with a tinge, or more, of historical truth to them. I'm glad you're putting your work out there!

Thanks, guys!
