Screenwriting : Animation or Live-Action by Michael Cole

Michael Cole

Animation or Live-Action

When creating new stories, I write with the thought of them being animated, as I always feel more, how should I say, creative liberation. How about you? How would you like your projects to be seen? Live action or animation?

Sasha Tomas

I like both. A great example is Fullmetal Alchemist. If done right, you can think in the same way and have a great story. VFX has come a long way and allows you the writer to think as big and cool as you like. I think today's special effect graphic artists and directors can make anything,

I like animated tv shows and they allow your imagination to run wild for a longer period of time.

In the end, it depends on what story you want to tell, 1hr 30mins or something that goes on for seasons.

Only your imagination is the limit, .

I mainly write scripts with the thought of them being live-action, Michael Cole, but sometimes I think about both (live-action and animation) to figure out which one would be better for the story.

Sasha Tomas

I like watching anime and cartoons. Guilty pleasure. Never thought of it both ways when writing, Very interesting.

PolyD Flynt

I like both. though I have very specific influences, I see my own films looking something like defenders of the earth meets heavy metal for animation and labyrinth or who framed roger rabbit.
