Your Stage : Winter is great time to write by Pete Whiting

Winter is great time to write

It's getting cold and wet in my part of Australia as we enter mid Autumn and Winter coming. But I find the winter months is when I have written all my screenplays. Summer I'm outside an being active where as winter time is a great excuse to stay indoors and write.

I have just started my next script. A horror called SINGLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT. It is about a series of SVAs involving young men in a small town. The local authorities put down to suicides due to economic downturn of the town and factory closures and personal situation of the men. But a washed up failed journalist notices some peculiar common details and investigates further and discover there are other forces at play.

I know it sounds a bit cliche /fomulatic but I hope to write something that is very different within this genre with some good plot twists.

So hopefully by my Summer (your Winter) I'll have a solid first/second/third draft done and ready to get some feedback and coverage on.

Stay warm, Pete Whiting. It's spring here. SINGLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT sounds like a unique concept. It has room for a lot of great twists/"WOW!" moments. And it sounds like the journalist has big reasons to figure out what's going on (so the young men's families will know the truth and so the journalist can revive his career).

Congratulations. Keep up the good work.
