So, I’ve finished my script and I am reviewing the grammar and other things before registering.
Question: some scenes I’ve added music cue… do I have to remove the music references from the script in order to submitting it?
I’m asking, cause the script is my intelectual property, but the musics are not…
Thanks!

Carmen Ferreira Music is extremely difficult to negotiate in filmmaking and clearance is complicated. I would recommend that you leave out specific references to music and instead use an action line to conjure the mood of the music.

Do not include anything in the script other than Descriptions of what is happening in a scene and the dialogue. Music will be decided by the Director or the film.

There's a middle ground between absolute yes and no to consider. If a specific piece is in mind: An Eighties rock song blasts from the boombox. Think Bon Jovi's "Livin' On A Prayer."
If not specific, drop the song reference.
In this way, the reader has a sense of where the writer is coming from, but the script is not pigeonholed into a specific, maybe costly tune. It also gives the producer budgetary latitude.
There is nothing wrong with a writer expressing their vision. It's Voice. It's what readers look for and resonate to.
Don't write scared. That'll shine through.

Leave it, dont apologize, it is your story until someone else wants it.This is your audition script to show peers your talent on the page. GL!
I have Frank Sinatra, John Lennon, Nina Simone and Mozart in my script!
They are like a part of the scene! Like talking to the characters that I’ve created, but what they say has nothing to do with the scene, cause my story is not about these songs lyrics.
Thank you, Dan Max!!!
I appreciate you!
