Screenwriting : Making a Living as…. by E Peña

Making a Living as….

I'm curious, but does anyone on here make a living as a writer? If so what do you do?

Emily J

Obviously I work with Stage 32 now lol... but during and initially after the pandemic I went full-time as a freelance writer. I had done it for short bursts in the past, but this was the longest stretch and included mostly content writing, writing for mobile games, working on a e-sports series, and some development work (script and pitch deck writing for production companies). The toughest part isn't the writing, it's keeping the projects on-going and/or finding new ones. It's hard to shift your mind back and forth

Emily good to know!!

Maurice Vaughan

I make a living as a writer/pitch deck designer by building relationships/networking on Stage 32, E Peña. I also use Upwork, but I get most of my jobs through Stage 32.

Michael Elliott

I made a good living as a freelance advertising copywriter for 20 years (1997-2017).

Marcel Nault Jr.

Far from it!

For now, I'm working as a part-time telemarketing agent from home. I'm thinking of looking for another job soon, without rushing it.

Bill Brock

Recently retired teacher here. Spring-boarded into screenwriting. Currently writing, submitting, and if selected, traveling to film festivals to support my nomination.

Simple plans are the best plans. : )
