Lately, I've been watching videos of people watching people react to seeing a film for the first time. I try to just pick videos where I've seen the movie they're reacting to, so I have an idea of the context of what they're talking about and seeing on the screen.
Anyways, I find this interesting, both from a personal and a screenwriting perspective. Personally, I'm a bit jealous of people watching one of my favorite films for the first time, because I'd love to repeat that experience again myself. From a screenwriting perspective it's good to see what people respond to, and what their thoughts are, especially about a film I'm familiar with. Sure, reading reviews by film critics can be useful, but I think this sort of thing from mostly ordinary film viewers can be helpful. At the very least it's fun.
Do you watch these, too? What do you think?

There was a TV show (can’t remember name) that did reactions of people seeing a film first time. Reactions tended to be spasmodic & erratic & not related to in depth story study, plot, character arcs or even visuals.
Debbie Croysdale That hasn't been my experience with the YT videos I've been watching. At least most of those I follow seem to understand what makes a good story, character development, pacing, etc. But anybody can make videos these days and there are tons of them out there, so I'm sure there are many that aren't worth the time.

Watching Game of Thrones reaction videos is so fun. I enjoy them from time to time.
