I recently discovered this very effective and amusing video regarding the "do's and don't's" when slapping together a bunch of words onto pages. Hope you enjoy as well.

That was fun to watch, Bill Brock. I didn't know the history of script format. I'm gonna share this with new writers so they'll know how to format scripts/why formatting is important. Thanks for sharing.

Maurice Vaughan Hey, Maurice. Got your message that you watched BAD IS BAD. Wow! We shot that in 2011. Haven't watched it in years! FUN FACT: I owned the 2005 Chrysler Crossfire that I drive in some scenes.

I use CONTINUOUS (action,) sparingly, or CONTINUED when there is one person's continued DIALOG not at all. For me it is redundant. Because we're not talking a productuon script. Getting rid of it also solves creating an extra line when put after a long introduced CHARACTER NAME
Like:
(Jan Jaap Klaas van der Zanden
- CONTINUOUS)
(Although after exporting to a pdf file this problem is miraculously solved)
MONTAGE / SERIES OF SHOTS
When it's clear ( that's in 99,99% of cases) when a MONTAGE or a SERIES OF SHOTS
ENDS, there is 'NO'
END MONTAGE or END SERIES OF SHOTS
(The Hollywood Standard)
And it makes perfect sence; again, why waste an extra line.
PROPS
Capping PROPS is a must for a production scrip. But too much CAPITALIZTION ( and Italic and Bold) makes a script (a) unreadable and (b) makes a script lose it's effect letting a key element of your script STAND OUT.
Check "Let Me In" if it's still downloadable for free.
I haven't seen BAD IS BAD, Bill Brock. I meant great acting in the trailer. I'd watch the movie though. Is it on YouTube?
