I find fashion industry extremely intriguing and full of dramatic potential. Curious if anyone else feels that way? I've used my own experience as a former fashion designer and have just written a new PILOT:
Four fashion houses, American, Italian, British and French compete for the space in the luxury market.
[The Devil Wears Prada meets The Morning Show]. What is everyone's thoughts on the subject?

It sounds like a big, fun show set in an expensive and seductive world. Of course, it all comes down to the script, the world and the characters. In my experience, the soapier you can make a primetime show like this the better.

Thank you Sam! Brand Wars definitely has the soap elements, while hopefully offers a fresh twist. I appreciate your take!

There definitely isn’t enough content out there based on fashion and it’s a popular subject. My novel and feature screenplay are set in the fashion world with my main character being a textile designer. I worked 30 years in fashion in design , production and buying. I would love to read your pilot.

When I was publishing RAZOR magazine, we were extremely fashion forward, Art Arutyunyan. In fact, at one point we were considered the go to for men's fashion, even, at that point, ahead of GQ. By virtue of that, I was embedded in the NY fashion scene, meeting the designers, the buyers, all of it. It's a fascinating world with even more fascinating characters. There's much to be mined there, no question.

You made my morning, week and month, DT. Entirely grateful, not only for the recognition, but for the fact that you got exactly what we were going for. This was during the height of every mag in the space - even GQ and Esquire - getting Maxim-ized. My mission was to take us the other way. Our slogan was "When you're done with your Maxim years, but not ready for your Esquire years." That resonated with our readers and in the advertising world and it was why we were able to win fashion accounts and big one off's like the Ford Shelby reboot away from everyone else. It was one phenomenal ride.
Couldn't be more thrilled that about the two features. I'd love to hear more! And I promise your wife, no coming for my share ;)

I remember that feature well. That was inspired by our Shelby GT deal, actually.
Where most mags at the time - and this is still true today - went for the McNugget "journalism", we leaned heavy into long form. Interesting people doing fascinating things. Journalists who weren't afraid to dig in and stir the pot. Hell, we did a piece on Scientology that got so much notoriety, I had people going through my garbage and leaving me threatening voicemails for a year.

I agree, Art Arutyunyan. The fashion industry is extremely intriguing and full of dramatic potential. I think that'll be great for a series about the fashion industry, and I think a series about the fashion industry would have a lot of external and internal obstacles.
