I find Distributing to be more than interesting, it deals with a lot of money, and a person needs a lot of understanding, With that being said it calls for much studying and all the up-to-date information in that field because it is changing quite often.

John Guinn - I find distribution to be tricky, as in finding an honest company to deal with. Most are not in favor of the filmmaker and charge nonsense fees, preying on people wanting exposure.

Hello Stephen, I have not had anything to take to the market yet, i plan to soon. Do you know a good distribution company for a thriller, mystery, or Horror film, or do you have a recommendation?

John Guinn - Yet to find one that is either 100% transparent and honest, or pays out enough to make it worth the effort working with them. When you do get to the stage of looking, I'd steer clear of any companies that want a market or marketing fee, or any type of absurd recoupable expenses. Make sure every expense is approved in writing. Add a performance clause w/option to get your rights back after 1-2 years max. If they are just going to put you on Tubi or Amazon Prime, etc, just do it yourself via FilmHub.
