Name of twins

Hi Good People (and you bad ones),

I am about to start a story. Twin males, organised crime types. People sometimes have twins similar things, like James and John, or Robert and Richard.

I want two male names for gangster types people that make sense, but sound and read different on the page. ROB and ROD would be super confusing.

Can you think of twins you have known that have cool names.

Boring white boy names please. Characters are very mid class white boys in the UK.

Thanks

Everyone.

Christiane Lange

Tristan and Troy :P I know, not middle class. Syd & Rick (named for their grandpas), Roy & Max?

Adam Harper

Immediately thought of notorious London gangster brothers - The Krays. They're named Reginald and Ronnie haha.

I like David as a name (perhaps a character who rages when called 'Dave'), and then perhaps a one syllable name for the other character - I think this off balance approach can read and be said aloud and sound cooler than a pair of two syllable names. David and Hugh

So, I don't really have a suggestion, but, advice is to avoid names that attract comparison the the Krays :-)

Why make it difficult if it can be easy:

Thanks everyone,

Adam Harper the Krays were a bit of a template, the story is nowhere close to them. These guys are a little more low rent. But they had the name issue, bloody Ron & Reg.

That link was a great help. It is a great list of names to just trigger thought.

I chose two that are in adjoining lines.

Elliot & Jasper.

Different first letters so visually different, different syllables, and different sound at the end of the name. So different, yet similar enough to be siblings.

Thanks again.

If people have more. please keep adding.

Adam Harper

I would not want to upset anyone with those names...

Dana Hawthorne

Cain and Abel (joking)

Samuel always makes me think of a boring British guy (no offense to any Samuel’s out there). Maybe Samuel and Evan?

Craig D Griffiths

Samuel is a good suggestion, one is slightly submissive to his brother, that could be sam.

Christiane Lange

Also George & Jake, my dad and uncle, identical twins.

Richard Buzzell

Rex and Tex?

E Langley

Fester and Irk.

David Blaustein

Michael and Christopher are talented identical twins I've known for years.

Craig D Griffiths

I have been write Samual and Ethan for a few days now. I think that fits them, thank you.

I have an Uncle Rex. Toughest man I have ever met (86). Stared down a thug the other day. He will be a great character one day.

Mark Deuce

Reminds me of that Tom Hardy English Gang Film Craig D Griffiths Mossy & Mark?

Rutger Oosterhoff

Samual & Ethan. I Like it. Who's the fair one (although they're criminals) I would almost say Samual is the oldest and the wisest You could also look up the names and see what they literally mean. Samual= God has heard or name of God. So that would mean: (1) he is the oldest (2) probably dictates; if he's also the wisest depends, in a not twin relation of two brothers, the youngest (Ethan = strong, safe, solid, and firm) is often the wisest but gets steamrolled by the older egocentric brother. Who behaves childish, like "your just my younger brother." But when there is (almost) zero age difference, and especially with identical twins, this would not be the case. By the way, are we talking identical twins?

Stephen Folker

Pete & Paul. Max and Milo.

The Kray brothers, a notorious pair of British gangsters, were named Ronnie and Reggie. Their counterparts in a Monty Python sketch were called Doug and Dinsdale.
