Introduce Yourself : Feature writing room by Eugene Mandelcorn

Eugene Mandelcorn

Feature writing room

We heard that some production companies were putting together a team of writers to write feature films similar to how they put together TV Series.  We are now doing this in our studio.  We hope this will make for a better film and streamline the time necessary for development plus give more writers a say in the final production.

I will be the ProRunner, the Producer, as well as the head writer.  I will let all of you know how this production progresses and eventually becomes a feature film.

Hi Eugene! Nice to meet you here at Stage 32

Maurice Vaughan

I've heard the same thing, Eugene Mandelcorn. I think it'd be interesting to work with a team of writers to write features one day. Looking forward to hearing how the progress goes.

Dale Reynolds

It's good to hear about you and First Features, Eugene. I'm a performed and translated playwright and a screenwriter with near Hollywood success. My work has been known to some of the accomplished actors in that town, and here in London, where I've lived for over 40 years. I have a few projects I might like to write to you about, if I may. Could you tell me if you are looking for stories on any themes in particular? Yours faithfully, Dale Reynolds, American writer in London. writdale@gmail.com

Best of luck and success in the development process, Eugene!

My first report: We had our first meeting this Sunday and the person who wrote the business plan for "The Blair Witch Project" was our special guest. It was a great and productive meeting.

Seamus Gearin

Neat idea! Would love to hear how well it works. Are you worried that burning the creative juices in such condensed fashion will lead to a lot of "samey" ideas or are you walking in with a bunch of storylines to develop as a starting-off point?

Eugene Mandelcorn

Hi Seamus, we already have the basic outline, characters and storyline for the film. We will be working through the project to make it as moving as possible. We hope to make the characters as endearing as possible, as those in "Cheers," "Friends," or "Two and Half Men." We want this independent feature to have the ability to break out like "The Blair Witch Project" or "Sound of Freedom."

Miroslavas Siniavskis

Such a great idea, I wonder why not many creative teams not doing that yet. For my knowledge of English and lack of ability to write movies into tiniest little detail including forming it to the standard form it is perfect to have a shot selling projects on the highest level. Good luck with your business model and maybe you are taking submissions?
