Introduce Yourself : Introduction by Michele Evans

Introduction

Greetings! Excited to be here and connect!

I have been lurking for a minute, taking time to get myself together before putting myself out here!

Began writing features in 2018 and some shorts before that. Wrote and Produced a TV pilot for ESPN a while back.

My passion is writing. I've adapted 6 of my screenplays into novels and wrote a Children's book for my Grandson as a Christmas present. A necessity because when I told him I finished my book, his response was "Well did you send it to me?" Wasn't prepared for that and had to come up with a solution real quick since the book in question was about Rikers Island and he is only 5! Oh out of the mouth of babes! Love that kid and his baby sister. They inspire me to be a better person.

Rikers Island is spreading around the world and has recently received features in the New York Times and the Times of London. It also got some love on the front page in Japan!

I'm super excited about this development as it's an opportunity to uplift unheard voices!

I'm based in New York City and have a couple of projects in the works. I would love to network and collaborate with folks on projects. I can write/produce/edit/act. Did the NYU online Film and Television thing and studied acting for years with major Meisner Technique Teachers here in the city. I edit in Adobe Premiere Pro and associated Adobe products.

Drop me a line. Tell me about yourself/projects. Better yet, add me to your network. Let's make movies!

A court fight over Rikers Island's future has produced thousands of pages about the jail complex's troubled state. Inmate authors have produced thousands more.

Hi and welcome Michelle. It sounds like all is going well for you, keep it up. I am an author with twelve books published and recently started to write scripts. I have found this a different kettle of fish from writing stories. However, what I have learned via Stage 32, has helped me to improve the start of my stories.

It's great to meet you, Michele Evans. Impressive resume. Congratulations on being featured in the New York Times and the Times of London! One of my goals for 2024 is to read more books. "Rikers Island: Criminalized Survivor" is on my list now.

@Karl James Langford welcome !

Congratulations on your novels and I love the way you talk about your grandson. He seems amazing. I have a neice and nephew and they're like my own. He's into dinosaurs and she's into declamation and art. It's a long shot I'd get to write a Jurassic World project for him with the rate that they are going but hopefully I can create something they both will love.

I'm on a journey to writing my script and my novel. Hopefully a director or a producer would be attach to it someday. Maybe I could learn from you, and hopefully I can assist you too.

Wish you the best!

Tasha McLemore

Congratulations and welcome!

And let me add I look forward to getting Riker's Island. Seemed like it's my thing. Exciting and riveting.

Gosh so cool you guys want to read Rikers! Definitely took a lot to get that book made! Thanks for the warm welcome. It's greatly appreciated. And yes my grandson is a cool cat! He could have his own youtube channel if his mom would let him, but alas, he is too young! Thanks again!

Maurice Vaughan
