Introduce Yourself : Hello Stage32 by Ian Milne

Ian Milne

Hello Stage32

Hi Everyone! Ian Milne here.

Writer. Producer. Editor. Cinephile. Dreamer .

I was recently announced as a winner in the Stage32 Feature Screenwriting Fellowship Contest, and am so happy to join such a passionate community.

I'm looking forward to connecting with agents, managers, executives, producers, and fellow creatives. My network is strong, but small -- the downside to working on a television show for so long. However, I'm very excited about the opportunities and possibilities I see you all experiencing here at Stage32.

I'll write any genre or story, but tend to tread in comedy & action. High concept & the fantastic is my brand, and I try to adhere to Robert McKee's principles throughout my process (highly recommend). I've been writing for 20 years, but this is the first year I have submitted to festivals & contests. Really hoping this opportunity leads to selling one of my screenplays, and getting it on the big screen. At the very least expanding my network -- this has been a rough road to walk alone.

Please say hi, and check out my bio. I'd love to help any Stage32-ers if I can, so please let me know if you have any questions for me (or just want to nerd out on film/tv). I've never used Social Media, so please bare with me as I navigate things.

Write hard.

-Ian

You're welcome, Ian Milne.

Ian Milne

Thanks Amanda Toney ! It was my dream since I was a child, but I shut off my writing brain for a long time as I embarked on education and "a normal/ real job". That didn't last, and I came to Los Angeles. It was during my first internship that I ventured into screenwriting. Initially learning through reading and writing coverage. But in all honesty, there were so many bad scripts...I felt I could do better. Or at least that I had a shot.

I think we all know what we truly want to do when we are young...before the world gets loud.
