Introduce Yourself : Greetings from an Old Fart by Gerald Smith

Gerald Smith

Greetings from an Old Fart

A pre-med major (Zoology/Physiology) in college who (due to a dislike of hospitals) opted instead for a career as a Civil & Military Engineer with the US Army. . .

But preferred the people side of organizations and developed a second career as a Management Professor at a University. . .

But moved on to a third career as a successful trial lawyer.

Whoa! Three different and diverse careers! “What’s next?” one might ask.

Maybe . . . writing.

For over 50 years, my writing has been all non-fiction – science and engineering papers, military operations plans and orders, academic papers, and legal documents. BORING!!!

Now recently retired, I’ve shifted my attention to the creative side of my brain, tapping into many, many years of dreams and thoughts and experiences filed away in my grey matter to create a diverse collection of fictional writings.

After authoring one novel and one children’s book, fictional screenwriting has become my primary focus. I finished four screenplays in the past two years and currently have four more in the works.

I am the first to admit that I am new at this and I welcome any and all advice anyone is willing to offer. Thank you in advance!

Congratulations on finishing a novel, children’s book, and four screenplays, Gerald Smith! "Old Fart" would be a great title for a Comedy.
