I'm glad it sparked outrage, Daniel Husbands. Artists are struggling, and the prize money could've really helped an artist and their family.

Oh no... Yes, that's not fair at all. I'm glad it's getting outrage, too, Maurice Vaughan.

AI right now is a Pandora’s box that can’t be closed…very very stiff regulations need to be put in place to safeguard artists and their livelihoods…as for the contest there should be outrage and the prize money returned

How could they not tell this was AI?

To give them the benefit of the doubt, I wonder if they fully understood what they were watching and its implications.

Leonardo Ramirez I'm gonna go on a limb here and say NO they did not.

Right now, every contest and exhibition needs to detail the acceptable or non-acceptable use of AI. Once it is not stated participants will do anything.

With all of the buzz about AI everywhere, it would be really hard to see a competition of this size never consider AI being used. While I can't say they knew for sure, just seems unlikely no one who organized this is connected to the issue. AI is everywhere right now.

I worked in the music industry for a number of years, Daniel Husbands. There are some aspects of it that exist in a bubble. Some of that is due to the busy nature of the industry.
Perhaps its worth having AI specific competitions.
AI video is filled with mistakes but you have to exploit that somehow if you use it. Nothing is ever perfect or finished as you know. The video simply does not go with the music. This is more about Pink Floyd that any love for AI.
