Hello and Happy Father's Day! I was watching a documentary on Walt Disney last night and was reminded once again of the importance of our dreams -- checking in with your community is definitely part of that :)
Nothing can ever take away my love of writing and the dreams that go with it, and that is enough to keep me going, although sometimes a little encouragement is nice -- one of my projects, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DECORATIONS was just awarded 2nd place in the StoryPros Awards Screenplay Contest and is in the top 3% on Coverfly, currently ranked #4 on the Red List for Family Features. It was also an official selection at the New Media Film Festival earlier this month, so feeling pretty positive about this one!
I recently completed a horror/sci-fi feature with an environmental theme with a writing partner (think THE FLY meets FRANKENSTEIN), which we are looking forward to pitching. Now I am trying to narrow down my 13,862 ideas to start my next project -- Christmas? Erotic drama? Psychological thriller? So many ideas, not enough writing time!

Loved your greeting Steffany Lohn Sommers since my absolute favorite calling is being a dad. Congratulations on your projects! Oh and I loved the Jeff Goldblum version of “The Fly”. Some of the gross parts make me look away but I still liked the movie as a whole. And you are right…never ever give up on your dreams! Happy writing to you as well!

I believe in dreams, too, Steffany Lohn Sommers. I'm currently peddling my "Stand Tall!", which might best be defined as a rom-com version of "Attack of the 50-Foot Woman" and sci-fi stories of that ilk. I want to write more comedies, including a time-travel tale set in classic Hollywood. (BTW to anyone and everyone: I've misplaced an earlier version of "Screen Time."
