As I sit in anticipation waiting for my final review for my screen play Mostly Dead, my girlfriend and I decided to write a sequel. I feel like the first one is going to be good enough to wear I can make a franchise out of it .. It's the only one I have written so far that has gotten a request. How do I you come up with your ideas? Do you something specific that you do ?
For me I like to come up with a character and start out designing the poster art around that character and a few long lines . Once I get an idea of what the main character going look like I will then build a storyline around that and go from there. I often times will use places I lived of names of people I know to help create the environment in with the story will take place a few of my screen plays that I am working on envlove the same character just in a different storyline.

That's a great way to come up with ideas, Keith A Kedenburg! I come up with ideas by looking at photos online, thinking "what if?", mashing two movies together, etc.

I'm an ideas-from-life kind of guy. As I live and experience different things I begin to think about and play with different things and then a story will come to me. Once I have the story idea I figure out what my theme is and then characters, dialogue, story structure, etc all flow out of the theme
