I came across this clip from The Power of Myth series and wanted to share it with the community.
Do you have a sacred space to retire to, where you can stop invasive media thoughts, or you can shelter from the cares of your life? This seems to be a great method or practice for a writer to have.

My room early in the morning before I get on social media or check emails, Geoff Hall.

Maurice Vaughan for me it's my study, where I do most of my writing, or my bedroom. I get up early and then do my Stage32 work there, where it's nice and warm.

Thanks for sharing! It's so timely with our constant accessibility to our phones, the internet, and social media. One place that's sacred for me is my reading nook in my office. This post has reminded me to be very intentional with that space and probably leave my phone out of it in the future!

Now that I've "retired" from my day job, I've moved my study to a room with no view, no TV, and made it a point to stay off social media and won't return phone calls until later in the day (I'm a morning person). Very spartan, but it works! I've written three screenplays and one stage play this year.

Barry Brock nice one, Barry. And well done on your output this year. What are you working on at the moment, or are you winding down for the holidays?

It makes me think that if you are writing a mythological story, your hero needs a sacred space.

It's typically before anyone else gets up Geoff Hall. I do have a special chair that I use for my "quiet time". I'm digging Barry Brock 's routine although the wife and daughter like to have access to me unless I say I've got a piece to complete.

Geoff Hall, I'm trying to stay productive during the holidays. I'm polishing up a script right now that's being looked at by a producer. Still trying to work out ideas from my "idea" pile. I actually enjoy the creative process.

Barry Brock writing is an essential element in my life, it's what grounds me. I couldn't imagine my world without it.
