I was so sad to hear about the passing of Marshall Brickman. I met him as a little kid in NYC at a book release party my parents took me to and he let me hold his ANNIE HALL Oscar. Indellible moment for a kid with dreams. Years later, in 1994, when the New York Knicks were making a run at their ever ellusive next title, we saw each other again at an event and he chest-bumped me like the Knicks had started doing. A kind and brilliant man and the more I learned the more I couldn't believe that was the guy who chest-bumped me - he played the guitar on DUELING BANJOS on the DELIVERANCE sound track, co-wrote the pilot that became THE MUPPET SHOW, created Cranac for Johnny Carson and went on to write the Broadway hits JERSEY BOYS and THE ADDAMS FAMILY. A brilliant and funny person and, to a young kid, a super nice guy who even got the joke on The Knicks. He's an inspiration to always be creating and writing and collaborating. RIP. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/12/01/movies/marshall-brickman-dead.html

My condolences to Marshall Brickman's family and friends, Sam Sokolow. THE ADDAMS FAMILY was one of my favorite movies growing up. Incredibly written movie! I didn't know there was a musical.

So sorry to read this. Brickman wrote and directed one of my favorite 80s teen thrillers, THE MANHATTAN PROJECT.
