Good afternoon, Stage 32!
Most of you know me as the author of too many Stage 32 blogs, and professionally I've been making most of my money these last few years as a script doctor and development consultant. My procedural sci-fi adventure script, The Lost Star, is in active development with an international production house out of Australia. Between the scripts I've ghostwritten in that capacity, and the works I've written on my own, I'm well over 70 screenplays into my career at this point. Right now I'm working on a vampire horror drama, editing my first novel, writing a kids space adventure game, and I might be getting started on rewriting an AI-drafted spec for a client in the next few days. If anyone wants to know my work, I've got a number of scripts posted here on the site!
In the interest of getting projects into pre-production in 2025, I'm offering clients the chance to get a original feature screenplay (or pilot and show bible) written for $5,000. One rewrite is provided with that price, so long as any notes and payments are delivered within 30 days of the rough draft's delivery and so long as none of the notes contradict the treatment that was written as part of our development process. I work fast, and so long as notes and creative decisionmaking don't take long, I can definitely commit to getting at least one script written before New Year's. If you want me to provide these services as a ghostwriter, there's no extra charge - because obviously, I don't promote projects I've ghostwritten. If you want me to adapt content from a pre-existing intellectual property, there's a $1,500 breakdown charge to be paid upfront.
Apart from the search for work, I'm getting settled in an adorable new home in Larchmont with my wife and dogs. Usually, I stream the game I've been developing... and that schedule is on hiatus, while we get some internet issues sorted out. Life is good, if more than a little anxiety-inducing. Let's all get some work moving, and let's all focus on building a stronger culture than the one that brought us where we are.
Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year!
Best regards,
Tennyson

Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year, Tennyson Stead! How are you and your family liking Larchmont so far?

Maurice Vaughan When I first moved to LA, I lived in an apartment in Koreatown within easy walking distance of where I am now. Some of the same restaurants I loved are still in business, and at the same time we're in one of the most affluent places I've ever lived. It's quiet, there's lots of reasons to sit outside, and our home is cozy. It's nice. When the time comes, I think we'll try to buy this place from the owner - and I think he'll be amenable to that.
How we came by this place is a story unto itself... but it used to be owned by a regular Broadway and TV actor who was very close with people like Angela Lansbury and Debbie Reynolds. My wife, who's also an actor, wound up getting very deep into his notes and records... and he's become kind of a posthumous mentor for Evan, and a friend of the family. It's been VERY interesting!

Larchmont sounds great, Tennyson Stead. I remember my family watched Murder, She Wrote when I was a kid. Have you and your wife worked on a project together?

Maurice Vaughan We’ve got a film in development now, but I can’t say too much about it until the producers have started up their public relations plan. It’s definitely something I’m proud of having written.

Maurice Vaughan Thank you, sir. I suspect they'll be shooting in New Zealand this year... but we'll see how things shake out!
