Hello everyone and the stage 32 team.
Unfortunately, I’m late to the party, as I haven’t properly introduced myself on this platform, since I had no idea how to navigate its waters and I’m yet to learn more. I’m Norman Lehlohonolo Kgatla, a South African Screenwriter and Camera Operator who worked on dozens of local productions on this side of the Atlantic and had tested the Hollywood waters before entering the Stage 32 Action Thriller Competition of 2024, as I was trying to understand what makes Hollywood tick.
I once managed to forward a Query Letter to Lleju back in 2011 while I was a student sitting in class not knowing it would draw interest for my other script, that wasn’t ready like at all and I most definitely angered that Studio Exec back then for sending him student material, but that taught me a lesson that I got from my then lecturer, Sean Robert Daniels (The 2012 Academy Nicholl Fellowships Winner), that never forward any material that isn’t ready to any producer whatsoever and ever since, I’ve been honing my skills which eventually helped me enter this year’s Competition, of which I ended up reaching the Semi-finals with my script the Taking of the Century and I must say, it was interesting.
