Read a Good Book Lately? : 36 Books in 2024! by Ashley Renee Smith

36 Books in 2024!

I've always been an avid reader. As a kid, I was buried in a book the majority of the time and as a teenager, I was devouring a book a day. In college, I had to slow down to focus on RA duties, film projects, and script deadlines. Then as an adult building a Development Executive career, my reading list was a mile long and I had to speed through as many books and scripts as possible each week, but none of them were my choice. They weren't for fun or pleasure. Everything that I read for over 7 years was for work, even the material that I enjoyed had to be analyzed closely with a critical eye.

So I started this year with a goal of reading 12 books for FUN before the end of 2024. What I didn't anticipate was that it would reignite my LOVE for reading and before I knew it, I was a kid again reading as often as possible for the absolute joy of it. I completed 12 books before the end of Spring and I was hungry for more. A friend and fellow Stage 32 member, Sandra, challenged me to keep going and tackle 36 books by the end of the year. I said, "It's ON!" This morning, December 31st, I started book #36!
