The Film Making Saga

Entry 013

Reflecting on this past week, it feels like everything has been moving at full speed—an intense but exciting blur of progress, challenges, and inspiration.

Early in the week, I came across a case study by Leon Abboud on how Pudgy Penguins and Persona executed their projects. I was blown away by their strategies, particularly their approaches to virality and branding. It was exactly what I needed to fuel my creativity for the campaign. Leon runs a marketing and brand enhancement business tailored to projects like mine, so I decided to take a leap and fill out his form. I’m hopeful this connection could lead to something impactful. Already, ideas are swirling in my mind on how to adapt what I learned to my own project.

Midweek, something special happened that reminded me why I’m doing all of this. During a walk, someone stopped me and asked, “Are you the bunny guy?” I wasn’t sure what he meant at first, but when he pulled out my business card and smiled, it clicked—my project is starting to resonate with people. He told me he was looking forward to the film, and I can’t describe how much that lifted my spirits. That moment stayed with me as a reminder to keep pushing forward, even when doubt tries to creep in.

Later, I had a call with a track coach my mentor introduced me to. Given the themes of The Timid Bunny?, this connection feels like a perfect fit. His insights could be invaluable, and I’m excited to explore how he can contribute to the project. It’s moments like these that make me feel like the right people and resources are finding their way into this journey.

On a more somber note, I learned about the Bunny Museum in Altadena being destroyed in the California fires. Watching the owner’s reaction on TikTok broke my heart—40 years of dedication gone in an instant. That kind of loss is unimaginable. It made me think about how The Timid Bunny? could contribute, even in a small way, to their rebuilding efforts. I’d love for the project to bring some hope to their community.

As the week came to a close, I focused on practical next steps. I’ve been considering bringing in small investors to give our marketing efforts a boost, so I worked on a project plan and outlined a pitch deck. My mentor and a few trusted people gave me great feedback, which reassures me as I prepare to approach potential investors. If this works, it could be a game changer for the campaign.

This week was full of highs and lows, but I’m incredibly grateful for all of it. Between the inspiration I gained from Leon’s case study, the unexpected support from a stranger, and the valuable connections I’ve made, it feels like momentum is building. Even in moments of doubt or heartbreak, I’m reminded why this project matters. Here’s to another week of growth and pushing this vision closer to reality.

Thank you, Maurice Vaughan, for the kind words and support—it means the world! I’m not sure about the celebrity status yet, but I’d be happy to give you an autograph anytime!

The news about the Bunny Museum is heartbreaking, and I’d love for The Timid Bunny? to play a role in raising awareness or helping in its rebuilding efforts. It’s a special place, and the community deserves to see it restored.

I appreciate your encouragement with the project and my connection with Leon. Bringing in small investors is definitely a step toward making this a collective effort, and I’m excited about what’s ahead. Thank you for being part of this journey!

You're welcome, Samuel Chambers. I'll get an autographed copy of your DVD or movie poster one day. Maybe get in contact with the Bunny Museum and see if you can do some kind of partnership with them for their rebuilding efforts. Or maybe a partnership for something else in the future.
