Babylonian Spell, a sapphic thriller that blends ancient Mesopotamian magic, forbidden love, and a gripping murder mystery.

I’m the author of Angel Diaries – Babylonian Spell, a sapphic thriller that blends ancient Mesopotamian magic, forbidden love, and a gripping murder mystery. The novel has been traditionally published by Alfa, one of Turkey’s largest publishing houses, and was awarded Best Mystery Novel in 2018. It has now been translated into English for a global audience.

Previously, I received offers from directors in Turkey to adapt the novel into a movie, but unfortunately, the project didn’t move forward due to government restrictions on LGBT themes and concerns about potential challenges. This setback has only strengthened my resolve to bring the story to life on an international stage, where it can truly flourish.

The reviews on Angel Diaries – Babylonian Spell on Amazon and Goodreads are completely honest and unpaid. I haven’t invested in any advertisements so far, so the feedback is entirely organic from readers who connected with the story. I’d also be happy to send you a free copy of the book so you can immerse yourself in its world.

I’m looking for someone who believes in this project as much as I do—someone who can adapt it into a compelling screenplay and has the connections to present it to producers or film companies.

Let me know your thoughts—I’m looking forward to starting this exciting journey with someone who shares my passion for bringing this tale to life on screen.

Hi, Arzu Gökyolcu. I’m a Stage 32 Lounge Moderator. I wanted to let you know I moved your post from the Filmmaking/Directing Lounge to the Your Stage Lounge. The Filmmaking/Directing Lounge isn’t the place to find directors for projects. It’s a place for filmmakers to discuss things about filmmaking/directing, share content like videos about directing, and offer tips/advice on all things filmmaking and the craft of directing.

You could search for a director in the Browse Members section (www.stage32.com/people?name=&location=&roles=Director).

Let me know if you have any questions. Hope you find a writing partner.
