The 97th Academy Awards will take place on Sunday 2nd March at the Dolby Theatre with Conan O’Brien as host. The races in several top categories are too close to call which should make it exciting. The terrible fires meant that voting was extended twice. My predictions are

Best Picture

The Brutalist, Emilia Perez, Conclave (my choice), Anora (would be brilliant, was first choice), Dune: Part Two, Sing Sing, A Real Pain, A Complete Unknown, Wicked.

Should include Juror #2, His Three Daughters, Challengers, Babygirl.

Best Actor

Ralph Fiennes (Conclave), Timothy Chalamet (A Complete Unknown), Adrien Brody (The Brutalist), Colman Domingo (Sing Sing), Daniel Craig (Queer) (Sebastian Stan (The Apprentice) (Jesse Eisenberg A Real Pain)

Best Actress

Mikey Madison (Anora-my favourite), Karla Sofia Gascon (Emilia Perez), Demi Moore (The Substance-I hated the film), Fernanda Torres (I’m Still Here), Angelina Jolie (Maria)

Best Supporting Actor

Kieran Culkin (A Real Pain), Guy Pearce (The Brutalist), Clarence Maclin (Sing Sing), Yura Borisov (Anora), Jeremy Strong (The Apprentice)
