Pitch practcice - how long should the pitch be?

Hi, for the pitch practice sessions, how long should the pitch be? Cheers

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, Phoenix Black. If I remember correctly, you get five minutes to pitch during a Pitch Practice.

Robert Franklin Godwin III

@Phoenix Black Pitch practice targets five minutes in anticipation of doing it for six minutes for the live Stage 32 pitch. Think elevator speech and the elevator is full of people who know nothing of your story.

I suggest you have at least a first draft written before practicing your pitch.

And, of course, everything will change from that draft and from your first practice pitch.

And then it will change again, and again and again until some poor soul buys the damn thing and puts an end to the madness.

Then, of course, the Director asks for some rewrites, and again and again.

Get the picture?

(Ha ha. 'get the picture?" I just kill myself)

Hi Phoenix Black! In our Skype or Phone pitches, you have the option to pitch face-to-face directly with the executive through Skype or via telephone. Your pitch will be 8 minutes in total. It is up to you on how you want to use your time, but we recommend you spend 5-6 minutes to pitch your project, followed by 2-3 minutes of questions or feedback from the person to whom you are pitching.
