I have question for everyone, (Btw, the reason I post in Screenwriting is because it's where I comment most) the other day I posted about my desperation and today now I have another question, what does everyone think of New York in terms of their Film Industry and Opportunity?

I believe that there is opportunity in New York. New York publishing houses, theatre and more.
Well in my other post, it was suggested to go to LA. But I happen to prefer the East Coast more. So I was curious as to what people thought.
New York is one of my favorite places-personally. Nowadays you can make it happen for yourself no matter where you're from or where you go. If you want to head East-do it! Then network like crazy, meet good people. Get on set-make it happen :)
I live near Rochester NY and as a screenwriter, I have no problem working up here. My partner is in LA, one of the producers who hired me to write a script (solo) for him is based in Georgia and another producer I've written for travels a LOT. The beauty of the internet and Skype is I can work with them anywhere! I'd like to move to LA eventually but for now, it's working out fine.
