‘UltraMan: Rising’ Co-Director John Aoshima Signs Overall Deal With Warner Bros. Pictures Animation

I thought this was really cool—especially since I just had a call with a Stage 32 member who hopes to work with Warner Bros. one day.

John Aoshima, co-director of Netflix’s Ultraman: Rising, has signed a multi-year overall development deal with Warner Bros. Pictures Animation. In his new role as Director in Development, he’ll be working on both original projects and existing IP. What kind of stories or franchises would you love to see Aoshima bring to life at WB?

I remember Ultraman growing up, Cyrus Sales. I'm glad Aoshima will be developing original and IP-driven projects. I'd like to see him bring an epic Earthworm Jim movie to life.

I've not seen "Rising" yet but I grew up on Ultraman so this is exciting news Cyrus Sales.

Woww! I almost forgot Ultra Man! It’s going to be exciting to see what he does with it. I’d like him to bring my OUT OF THE PARK feature to life. I’ve been told it is something we have not seen before, It Centers around anthropomorphic sports balls, and a little athletically challenge science nerd.

Leonardo Ramirez 2 Maurice Vaughan It's funny how many people grew up watching Ultraman—I’ll admit, it wasn’t really part of my childhood, so I don’t remember much about it. Still, I love seeing how excited everyone is about the news. Gregory Bonds where are you at with the development of your project OUT OF THE PARK?"

Gregory Bonds

Hi, Cyrus! Happy Friiiiday! Thanks for asking. I’ve had a couple of consults and a complete read and took that feedback and incorporated where I could and feel like I really have it right, now. i’m about to reach out to overseas Studios now that I have a better understanding of the dynamics, but would really like US based production… Not that I would turn down international production.

I’ve been told I have a unique concept that we haven’t seen applied before , A new take on the anthropomorphic genre, with a colorful twist, so just trying to introduce it to Animation Producers.

here’s the very first feedback from over three or four years ago that encouraged me to continue the story. Now, with the outstanding feedback from your executives here on Stage 32 it should be ready to make its mark.:

Mara Gagnon - Creative Executive, Oddball Entertainment "He has high stakes and colorful characters that work well for the animated market. A really interesting premise we have never heard of before."

*Diverse Voices - "The script has a fantastic sense of creativity and is filled with incredible imagination"

Before I start an entire message thread under this post. I believe we are already connected network wise. I own a media production company (animation, audio and VFX) based out of Dallas, Texas. I'm not too sure how we can help but I'd like to see where we align and go from there, if you are open to it?

Gregory Bonds

But, of course! I did not know that but, yes, let me know what you need from me, Cyrus!

Thanks for sharing Cyrus Sales! I was an Ultraman fan as a kid, so I'm excited to see this. I totally missed the movie on Netflix, so I'm looking forward to watching it.
