This is my reimagined short film that offers a new perspective on the life and work of Erick Ifergan. Composed mostly from unused footage from the original documentary (Artificial Dreams), this version turns inward — focusing more on Ifergan’s personal philosophy of filmmaking.
Born in Morocco in 1958 and raised in France, Ifergan began as a stills photographer before making his way into music videos and eventually becoming a highly sought-after commercial director. While the original film explored the tension between artistic purpose and commercial success, this version delves into Ifergan’s creative process, the filmmakers who influenced him, and the deeper motivations that have shaped his craft.
