Hey everyone.
I'm producing a short film called FIFTY, a TV comedy about Franklin, a hapless British student who goes viral for all the wrong reasons and ends up stranded in rural Nebraska. Broke and humiliated, he stumbles into a local corn-eating contest in a last-ditch effort to escape town, and unwittingly begins a road trip across all 50 states.
This short film is our proof of concept for a larger series. We’ve already pitched the idea to Netflix USA and Channel 4 (UK), both of whom have asked to see the finished piece.
We're fortunate to have some incredible talent on board:
- Lauren Craig, LA-based PGA producer with major studio feature credits
- Steve Ryde, legendary BBC comedy producer (Inside No.9) with 20+ years of experience
- Cameron King (Turn Up Charlie, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children) as Franklin
- Randall Galera (FBI International) as Steve
We’ve just launched our Kickstarter to get the short made, and would you follow the project, send any advice, feedback, or support, especially from those who’ve run successful campaigns or pitched projects internationally.
Here’s the campaign: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rjscreenplays/fifty-a-british-misfi...
Thanks so much. I am excited to be part of this community and hear about your projects, too.
Cheers,
Rob
