Pages Of A Dream

I recently began developing a project that combines storytelling with original music: a musical fairytale titled Pages of a Dream. Writing the songs first gave me a natural rhythm and flow for the story, letting the music guide the narrative.

At its heart, the tale follows Ezra, a young prince hidden away as a humble farmer after his mother fled with him. She ran to protect him when Ezra’s uncle seized the throne—murdering Ezra’s father and declaring his own rule. Believing his nephew to be long dead, the uncle secures his claim by grooming his own son as heir.

But destiny stirs when a neighboring kingdom seeks to unite their bloodline with the rightful throne. Ezra crosses paths with Princess Yelena, and what begins as an unlikely friendship slowly blossoms into a bond that feels like the stuff of fairytales—both fragile and powerful, born from trust, hope, and love.

Pages of a Dream sounds incredible, Azrael Arlington! I've thought about writing a musical. Thanks for the tip to write the songs first.

Maurice Vaughan Yes sir! A lot of times I can lose the thought track or direction i want the story to go, so writing a song for a section of the story gives me something to build up towards, or to write around. It's a great way to create a continuous growing outline, that has the potential to change with the music, literally.

Very cool Azrael Arlington - sounds almost a mirror image of my novel The Black Ruby (which I also have a soundtrack for). My music and story were not originally meant to intertwine, but in the end, they fit perfectly. When will yours be ready to read/listen to?

Kat Spencer The story itself is still in progress. the basic outline has been set and the first draft started. As for the music, I have several songs done. I write the lyrics and then use AI to make the music and add a voice, that way I have an idea of where to go with it. However the AI is not the best and or final product. I plan on recording the music with my voice eventually, and a few others I have an idea would voice the character well.
