Introduce Yourself : Hi Everyone! by Vahe Ohanian

Vahe Ohanian

Hi Everyone!

My name is Vahe Ohanian, and I write mind-bending thrillers that blend history, supernatural intrigue, and sci-fi to drive the story forward. Born to Armenian parents in Baghdad, Iraq, and raised in the United States, I draw inspiration from the survival stories of my grandparents—orphans of the Armenian Genocide—whose resilience shaped my worldview.

I am a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served as a helicopter crew chief (1983-1987). I went on to work in the airline industry before earning my law degree and passing the California Bar. As an attorney, I championed underserved clients in both civil and criminal cases, including serving as co-counsel in a murder trial.

My writing explores themes of injustice, the endurance of cultural identity, and supernatural retribution, often rooted in the Armenian-American experience attempting to resonate with audiences on universal themes. My latest feature thriller script is titled SPIRITS OF THE CRANE. The attached YouTube video is my self portrait painting which highlights my other passions.

I have an idea for a science fiction screenplay: When humanity colonizes the Moon, they discover that the bright side has gravity while the dark side is weightless — a divided world where politics, survival, and war collide. Could you help me develop it?

Hello, Vahe. Nice to meet you!

Hi Vahe,

Thank you so much for sharing your journey and your story, it’s truly inspiring. The way you weave together personal experiences, history, and the supernatural resonates with me, as I also try through my film projects to explore memory, beauty, and the scars of the world while transforming them into universal stories.

I find the richness of your path remarkable from your service in the Marines, to your work as a lawyer, and now as a writer, it all gives your perspective as an author a unique depth. Spirits of the Crane sounds like a very powerful project, with both a strong identity and a universal reach.

Looking forward to connecting more and exchanging about our visions and ways of transforming human experience into stories.
