Hello everyone,
My name is Kany J. Henry, a Congolese creator, screenwriter, and director currently based in Conakry, Guinea. It's a pleasure to be a part of the Stage 32 community.
My passion is to build narrative universes that blend the thriller and supernatural genres with the unique realities of modern African metropolises. I call this genre "African Tech-Noir" stories that explore how technology, collective memory, and ancestral beliefs collide in our hyper-connected world.
After directing several short films, I am now developing my first premium series, a project that is the culmination of this vision.
I'm always fascinated by how different cultures interpret genre. My question for this amazing community is: What are some of your favorite non-Western horror or sci-fi films/series that you feel have a truly unique cultural voice?
Looking forward to connecting with you all!
All the best,
Kany
