Hello! My name is Jon Casey! I’m from Detroit, Michigan area. I’m a Film Director / Writer / Cinematographer / and Editor. I also produce things too, but I don’t usually list that as my main credit.
My short film trailer just got awarded Semi-Finalist at the Director’s Cut International Film Festival in Vancouver, 2025. Hope it wins! Wish me luck. I just found out about the festival.
Also, I’m still waiting to hear back from a pitch on here, and he’s taken almost 3 weeks to get back to me. I’m also waiting on a script request, to hear feedback. It’s almost been two months since I’ve heard back from that Producer. Getting antsy. She got back to me right away, after my pitch to her. So this seems unusual. Congratulations, Jon Casey! Hope your trailer wins too! It can take 3 weeks or longer to get feedback from a Pitch Session. Almost two months and longer to hear back from a producer about a script request is normal in my experience.

I understand your angst for sure. Had a producer request a script within hours of a pitch and took 6 months to get back with me. Some others are nearly two months into a request with no follow up. Keep writing the good write and things will happen in time!

No matter how strong we try to be, the absence of a father leaves such a deep emptiness… No matter how old we get, especially when we see fathers with their daughters, it’s a moment where words simply end. The requester sent the script to a 'reader' who said it never got read. Per my agent's asking about it after months and months of crickets. It was not through stage 32. It was requested through my agent's query letter.
Big name, though. Just my experience.
I am glad you are doing so well, Jon Casey. I am just tired of banging my head against the wall. Plus long haul covid.
Paid work is drying up. People are nervous about spending money, and they have said this to me.
I respect anyone who is succeeding, as you are.
