I’m still of the mindset that AI can’t write a good story. Simply put...it has no soul. It never will.
Having said that, two items of note from this article caught my eye and they’ve given a name to an AI “actress”...Tilly Norwood.
1. “Both Van der Velden and Puhm suggested that studios and other media and entertainment companies were quietly embracing AI under the radar, and to expect public announcements about high-profile projects using the technology in the coming months.”
2. “We were in a lot of boardrooms around February time, and everyone was like, ‘No, this is nothing. It’s not going to happen’. Then, by May, people were like, ‘We need to do something with you guys.’
Thoughts?

As an aside, the creator of Tilly Norwood has put out a statement: “She is not a replacement for a human being.” Ya think?

My first thought: We are people who thrive on connection...with other humans. That will never change. AI is still just a tool.

I agree with you, Leonardo Ramirez 2. "AI can’t write a good story. Simply put...it has no soul. It never will" and "We are people who thrive on connection...with other humans."
I think some studios, other media, and entertainment companies are quietly embracing AI under the radar, and I think they're going to make public announcements about high-profile projects using the technology in the coming months. I think it's a really bad business decision though. From what I've been seeing online from people in the industry AND people who watch movies, watch shows, play video games, etc., they're not interested in AI in movies, shows, and so on at all. I'm not either.

You're right Maurice Vaughan. I'm curious as to how audiences or the market will react when these announcements are made. I was surprised to learn that there already exists music generating AI platforms. I feel the same way about those but I'm also told by one trade writer that audiences have already accepted them.

Nick Cave wrote, in a conversation about AI and art, that, "Data doesn't suffer," and that line has lived with me. A lot of incredible human advances and creations have be borne of conflict and suffering, and striving to balance turmoil and pain with peace and wonder is in every cell of life. Even just the sheer banality of boredom and staring out of a classroom window imagining being "anywhere but here" is something that AI will never have the opportunity to experience.

Hopefully audiences will be outraged, Leonardo Ramirez 2. I'm not sure how the market will react. I've heard about music generating AI platforms. Not a lot though. From what I've heard, some people like the AI music, and some people and record labels are really against it.

Perfectly understandable why a record label would be against it Maurice Vaughan - it's a loss for them. I've listened to AI Music and it's soulless. Even if you didn't know it was AI, I think artists and audiences who are in touch with their passions will know the difference.

Agreed Freyja Seren (she/her) There's no getting around peace and wonder being in every cell of life. Our very cells recognizes life when we see it.
