Has anybody had any success in finding a manager, and if so, how did you do it? I have three scripts and have been sending out query emails, but not getting any feedback, help!!!
Hi, Alan Kerr. I had a manager for two years (2009 and 2010). Anthony was a great manager. He taught me things about the industry and gave me guidance. He signed on to produce one of my scripts, but he left the industry and started his own photography company. That’s why I only had a manager for two years.
A portfolio helped me get a manager. I think it's smart to have different genres in a portfolio, unless a writer just wants to sell scripts in one genre and be known as the Action writer, Comedy writer, etc.
My biggest tip is network on Stage 32, on other platforms, and in person. It could lead to you connecting with a manager, script requests, meeting requests, etc. Here's some blogs on networking: www.stage32.com/blog/tags/networking-41
Stage 32 has in-person Meetups that are great for networking (www.stage32.com/meetups). If you don't see a Meetup in your area, you could start your own.

You can connect with managers through Stage 32’s Pitch Sessions (www.stage32.com/scriptservices/pitch-sessions).
And you could enter contests that'll get your scripts in front of managers and other industry pros (www.stage32.com/scriptservices/contests).

You can also search for a manager on IMDbPro (https://pro.imdb.com/signup/index).
Stage 32 has a webinar called "How To Write A Query Letter That Gets You Past The Gatekeepers" I suggest checking out. www.stage32.com/education/products/how-to-write-a-query-letter-that-gets...
