My short film combo (30-minute and 15-minute cuts) of SUPER TURBO JET BOATS Movie (Episode 1 of 4) just received the 50th Selection from festivals spanning 17 nations so far,
I launched 4 months ago with a micro-budget strategy of sending to small international festivals and so far it is going amazingly way more successful than I even could have hoped !!
Who says USA-based Comedy doesn't travel internationally??
So the thing is there is a numbers game involved because every Selection does not result in a screening.
21 Selected
15 Award Winner
1 Finalist
5 Semi-Finalist
4 Quarter-Finalist
4 Honorable Mention
Even some of the Award wins are online screenings, so as a Distribution launch this is just a first salvo, and very grassroots in nature, however with the goal of gaining awareness and eventually more Views and Screenings it is going great. However it requires time and patience because the full year ahead will be devoted to completing and launching 3 additional episodes and eventually compiling the feature-length film, but for me as a screenwriter it is more than worth it seeing it on-screen,
although I will not be in LA for the Culver City Film Festival a week from tomorrow, I am feeling the momentum !!
