Sounds pretty mundane but if you are passionate about your new cookie flavor you want to share it with the world !!
But maybe the world does not care or doesn't even notice because there are already so many wonderful delicious kinds of cookies out there, and they are not even aware of your special flavor!
So you go through the proper channels (submitting to festivals / meeting with food industry sales reps) and at the same time go out to the public (social media campaign / handing out free samples!).
And while you are building awareness and gaining momentum and traction, the punctuated equilibrium of your successes and challenges gives you a real-time feedback mechanism every day and every week and every month so that as long as you are making progress and expanding the awareness of the project, you can see a way forward.
