Hi everyone, I’m Michael Mammarella, a writer, screenwriter, and author based in Australia.
I focus on character-driven storytelling with heart, humour, and emotional honesty. I recently completed my romantic comedy feature screenplay The Love Game, which has begun its festival run and is receiving encouraging early feedback. I’m also the author of The Writer’s Compass, a self-help book for creatives navigating the ups and downs of the writing journey. I’m currently developing two new books, along with a slate of film and TV projects.
In the next 12 months, I’m working toward a few key goals:
• Finding a manager and representation to help guide the next stage of my writing career.
• Connecting with producers, directors, and fellow writers.
• Securing opportunities to sell or produce my screenplays.
• Moving into full-time writing work in some capacity, whether through screenwriting, writers’ rooms, development work, or related creative roles.
• Pursuing traditional publishing for my upcoming books I'm working on.

I love that you have listed your key goals Michael Mammarella . Check out some of the lounges to also find the people you might light to connect with. Just a side note as someone who worked in publishing for many years, traditional book publishing is not all that. There are many other options, if you really want your message heard.

Thank you for your reply and advice Debbie Elicksen . I would love to hear your opinions on building a career as an author without finding a more traditional avenue. I have already self published my non-fiction creative writing book (The Writer's Compass) on amazon and other platforms, but without a lot of consistent marketing, paid ads and other things, it's been very difficult to get it seen. It's hard being a writer and also trying to do social media, marketing, ads, etc on the side, because they are both technically full time jobs.
