I help run Cohort’s Film Lab, a NYC-based short film lab built around a structured, two-week creative sprint.
Participants are randomly assigned to teams, with each team intentionally balanced across roles (writer, director, DP, editor, etc.). All teams receive the same creative prompt and each team draws a random genre, then has two weeks to develop and complete a short film.
The lab culminates in a public, in-person screening followed by talkbacks.
We’ve already completed one NYC round and are currently opening the next in January. This isn’t a job listing, it’s a structured environment for filmmakers who want to make strong short-form work under real constraints, and meet others in the industry.
