Introduce Yourself : Hi Everyone by Lion Obasi

Hi, I’m Lion Obasi, a Nigerian filmmaker, writer, based in Lagos. I work across writing, directing, and editing, and my storytelling is rooted in emotionally driven, spiritually grounded narratives that explore themes people are often afraid to confront or tend to overlook. I’ve written and directed short-form narrative projects that have gained strong creative traction, and I’m now focused on expanding my work into more ambitious, globally resonant stories.

Currently, I’m developing a slate of narrative projects that lean into psychological drama, spiritual realism, and Afro-surreal storytelling. These works are at various stages of development and are intended to scale from intimate, character-led stories into larger cinematic worlds, while maintaining a strong authorial voice and visual identity.

At this stage, I’m actively seeking meaningful partnerships with producers, executive producers, development partners, and financiers who are interested in bold, culturally rooted stories with international potential. I’m also open to collaborating with writers and creatives who share a passion for purposeful storytelling. My goal is to build a strong creative team and long-term collaborations that can bring these stories to life with care, integrity, and global reach.
