Collaborative Opportunity: Seeking a Passionate Co-Writer for a WGA-Registered K-Drama Style Thriller

Hi everyone!

I’m so excited to finally be part of the Stage 32 community! I’m a creator and writer based in Arizona, and I’m currently looking for a talented co-writer to join me on a project that is very close to my heart.

I’ve been developing a dark psychological thriller called The Killer Within Me (내 안의 살인자). It’s heavily inspired by the emotional intensity and cinematic grit of K-Dramas. I have a fully completed 9-page Series Bible (WGA West Registered #2319474), and now I’m looking for the right creative partner to help me bring the 60-page pilot script to life.

Here is a bit about the story:

• Logline: After a horrifying bullying incident and a mysterious chemical accident, a young man disappears. Years later, his twin brother, now a detective, returns to their coastal hometown to investigate a string of ritualistic murders, discovering the killer may be wearing the faces of the people he knows—blurring the lines between the hunted, the hunter, and the victim.

• The Vibe: Think isolated coastal towns, deep psychological trauma, and a high-concept "transformation" mechanic that keeps the audience (and the characters) constantly second-guessing who they can trust.

What I’m looking for:

I’d love to connect with a writer who enjoys playing in the "dark and gritty" space and who has a knack for visceral suspense and sharp dialogue.

My goal is to have a polished draft ready for the SeriesFest (Feb 2) and Tribeca (Feb 11) deadlines.

The Partnership:

• Credit: We would share 50/50 "Written By" credit.

• Investment: I will personally cover 100% of all submission fees for our target festivals.

• Vision: I am ultimately looking for a long-term collaborator for my production slate (Visionis), but we’ll start here!

If this sounds like something you’d be passionate about, I’d love to hear from you! Please feel free to comment below or send me a DM with a bit about yourself and any samples of your work.

Looking forward to meeting some amazing creatives here!

Best,

Tonyek'a C. Smith

Hi Tonyeka,

And first of all, welcome to the Stage 32 community. I've read your logline and project description and have to say it very much intrigued me.

I would have to say I'm new to the writing industry, I just recently picked it up again after having it on hold for a long while, but I'm serious about the new commitment, passionate enough to want to make it work long-term. I have my most recent sample short screenplay already posted on the platform, if you feel like checking that out.

K-Drama, I'm not too familiar with either, but I love me a psychological thriller built on suspense, dark atmosphere and complex character dynamics and am a sucker for sharp, witty dialogue.

Would love to learn more about the project and am honestly down for making this work. If at all you feel like I could be of any help to you and your project, feel free to drop me a DM.

Wishing you the best of luck,

Andrei

Hi Andrei,

Thanks so much for the warm welcome to the community! I really appreciate you reaching out.

I took a look at the screenplay sample on your profile—you have a fantastic ability to draw the reader in right from the start. You have a very clear voice and a talent for immersive storytelling, which is exactly the kind of energy I’m looking for. Even if you’re newer to the industry, that "hook" is something you can't teach, and I'd love to talk more about the vision for this project with you.

I’d like to hop on a quick 15-minute call to say hi. I'm keeping my Monday open for prior commitments, but I'd love to chat later in the week!

Do any of these times (Arizona/Mountain Time) work for you?

• Tuesday – Thursday: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM

• Saturday: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Just let me know if you prefer Zoom or WhatsApp and we'll get it on the calendar.

Excited to chat!

Best,

Tonyek'a
