I really want to work both in live action and animation industries. In live action, I would like to make fantasy TV shows and occasionally one feature film or another. In animation, I mainly want to work with anime / anime-inspired works, such as Avatar: The Last Airbender or Naruto. That's because I want to focus on working to the nerdy part of the public, I even want to adapt books because of this.
But I want to know, if you have worked with both animation and live action, what differences do you find the most important to know? What are the key differences between working with animation and working with live action?

Lina Coutinho I love that you’re aiming for both live action and animation, there’s a lot of crossover, but also some big differences.
For me, the biggest one is timing and flexibility. In animation, you can fully control every frame, every movement, every camera angle, which gives you a ton of creative freedom, but it also means planning is super critical and changes can be time consuming. In live action, you work with real actors, sets, and practical limitations, so you have to think on your feet more and adapt quickly to what’s actually happening on set.
Storytelling-wise, animation lets you exaggerate and stylize in ways live action can’t, which is amazing for anime inspired works. Live action is more grounded, so you have to rely on performances, camera work, and production design to sell the story.
Both have their challenges, but honestly, working in both keeps things exciting, you learn a lot from each that can inform the other.
