LA Writers & Creatives, want to make a short film in 2 weeks? (Teams Forming Soon)

Los Angeles filmmakers, actors, and creatives,

We’re opening enrollment for the first Los Angeles cycle of Cohort’s Film Lab, a collaborative two-week sprint where small teams come together to write, shoot, and screen a short film!

If you’ve been saying “I want to make something, but I don’t know who to work with,” this is exactly why the lab exists.

How it works

Night 1:

Everyone gathers in person.

You’re randomly placed on a balanced film team (actors, directors, writers, DPs, editors, etc.)

We reveal the creative prompt.

Your team draws a random genre.

You spend the evening planning your film.

Following 2 weeks:

Your team writes, shoots, and edits your short on your own schedule.

Night 2:

We come back together for a public screening + talkback with the entire cohort, friends, and other industry members.

Cohort’s Film Lab is not a class or a networking mixer, it’s a container designed to help people meet collaborators and actually produce work.

Actors, directors, writers, cinematographers, editors, sound, production designers; all levels welcome!

We’ve run Film Labs in NYC and St. Louis, and now we’re building the LA community!

Each lab is capped so teams stay balanced, and spots usually fill once teams start forming. If you want to join:
