Screenwriting : Producer didn't show up to the pitch. session. by Dominick Lordes

Dominick Lordes

Producer didn't show up to the pitch. session.

Has anyone had a producer not show up for a. pitch session before? What do you do? My guy ddn't show, and I'm utterly pissed bc I literally went thrugh a lot of bullshit to make this happen.

Sanna Peth

If that happens, I would definitely recommend reaching out to the Stage32 team and letting them know. They’re usually very helpful in situations like this and can often help reschedule the pitch session.

Emilia-Maria

One didn't get to mine for 7 weeks - made a complaint via email, got a voucher for another session.

The way Stage 32 schedules these quick pitches, the producer might have 20 or more 6 minute pitches back to back. If even one thing goes wrong it's easy to get behind. If several things go wrong, or if each pitch is just ONE minute too long, by the time you get near the end of the session the producer could easily be 15 -20 minutes behind. I'd recommend staying available for at least half an hour after your scheduled time.

Now, of course, if this was an individually scheduled pitch meeting, contact Stage 32. There's probably a good reason and you can reschedule or get a refund.

Sorry this happened Dominick Lordes. I understand how much juggling has to take place on your side to make that happen. Definitely reach out to Stage 32 at support@stage32.com. Hoping they can help you. All the best.

Dominick Lordes I'm sorry to hear about the technical issue with your session. The executive let us know what happened (Zoom issue...) and I want to make sure you're fully taken care of. Our moderator team has already reached out, but I want you to know your options: we can arrange a redo with the same executive, have you submit a written pitch, or connect you with another executive who has availability coming up and would be a great fit for your project. However you'd like to proceed, we've got you. Feel free to DM me anytime so that I can personally help you.

Everything was corrected that dday and the producer loved the pitch and said it exellent characters. S. it was worth the confusion bc everything he said indicated a read. But we'll see. Thank you to everyone for ther help and advice. This was a producer who worked on many films in the same lane as mine, so it was never about 35 bucks. And all about sticking to a plan. And I've gotten 3 reads out of 6 pitches so far, so I'lm starting to see the inevitability of this film becoming reality.

Dominick Lordes 3/6? That's a great record. Really exciting. Feel free to DM me when you hear back from the producers, or if anyone want to engage, shop the project etc. and I can advise on next steps.

Well, I've been nominated for best. supporting actor at LIFFfor a role. flatter than 3 week old champagne, so I've pitched myself to play the lead. That's why I wrote it. The three producers who requested a read all seemed to love my. passion, and were cool with it. So, if nything goes further I think I need to get an Entertainment lawyer. That's my next if and. when the interest in the piece starts a bidding war. But when all comes down to it, I will ask you for your advice my good man. Thank you and I'me very grateful for your support. That kind of love is certainly felt.

That’s really frustrating, especially considering the time and effort that goes into preparing a pitch. I’m sorry you had to experience that.

At the same time, situations like this unfortunately highlight how unpredictable the industry can be. I hope you get another opportunity to present your work to someone who truly values your time and creativity.

Wishing you better and more respectful collaborations ahead.

Dominick Lordes

All. worked out great, Hadil. Stage 32 were real pros and got me my pitch back that very same day. And the producer I pitched. to was awesome and liked it. So, no harm no foul. I was just. upset the moment it happened and it turned. out to be rectified with class and accuracy. I love these pitches and I've had extraordinary grace. and luck doing most of them. Not everyone's going to love your shit.
