Happy introduce yourself weekend fellow film creators of Stage 32! I am Joshua Jones a Director and Screenwriter based in London, UK. I fit in the Auteur category.
I have been writing since 10 years old, now over 20 years. I trained as an actor for years and went to drama school. I am only self produced but receiving great feedback. I have taken my future into my own hands Writing, Directing and Producing my own work. This year I am taking the leap to Debut feature film.
My biggest inspirations are Christopher Nolan, Tarantino, Ken Loach, P.T.A, Lynne Ramsey, Wong Kar Wai, Guy Ritchie, Danny Boyle, Edgar Wright.
I write in every genre and have worked hard to build an extensive screenwriting slate. I have 10 Feature films, 2 Tv Pilots finished. Then a catalogue of screenplays in development.
I am looking to connect with Producers and Investors this year. The people who have that “eye of the tiger” and happy to champion debut directors. I am happy to Sell 2 of my screenplays to build my CV and help my journey to a produced director. The others are non-negotiable as Director, to be upfront.
My immediate goal is debut feature. Screenplay completed. A Neo-Noir Crime Drama featuring Black comedy. Many readers have likened it to being Taratino-Esque with a twist.
I also am pitching a Thriller Horror consecutively, which ever one gains traction, and investment first I will fly with.
My super objective is to be a prolific filmmaker, and to one day Win an Oscar.
I am connecting with Stage 32 learning how this community can collaborate. Which is exciting.
I will be at Cannes in France in may. So if you’re there let’s book a meeting. I hope to make it to the Stage 32 networking events.
Cheers
Joshua Jones
