Introduce Yourself : Ah, the scent of a classic Internet forum. by Zoe Landon

Ah, the scent of a classic Internet forum.

At least that's how it feels 'round these parts so far. Catalogued conversation domains, threads of interaction, a certain level of communal sensibility... Smells like petrichor. Nostalgic, and a bit damp.

Anyway hi. I'm Zoe, an aspiring screenwriter and fan of the weird. I'm usually consuming fantasy stuff, so my output tends to resemble that, but I enjoy when it also resembles reality. (Lynchian, sorta.) I've spent the last 15 years (give or take) in the tech industry, and one can only imagine what it has done to me. Thankfully, I write! I was even trying to write screenplays as a kid, with no idea what I was doing, reading a bunch of 90s movie scripts and trying to adapt a web comic I liked to the screen. (It was bad.) (The script not the comic the comic was fine)

I migrated to writing novels and other prose, since that felt more viable to get in people's hands, but one never forgets their ambitions. I've started getting encouragement to dig into screenwriting, so as I learn the craft and figure out loglines, I figured I should try to Network and Socialize and do all that people-interaction jazz that a decade+ of tech work has drained my ability to do oh no

Welcome! I hope you get everything you need out of this platform. The blogs are great and Geoff F. gives a serious amount of weekly insider intel to keep us all informed as to what is happening in the industry. Also, the Open Houses are good to attend so keep an eye out for those. Cheers!
