I'm currently pitching two features right now, and I've just begun getting excellent scores on all of them. The producers have said things to me like the pitch's writing was excellent, I loved your story (This is the most common), you're very strong pitcher, and you've given me a lot to think about. I've carefully selected all of my listeners to make sure they're in the same lane as my projects. And even though they say they love them, they still throw a pass. Our investors aren't looking for this right now, or I'm not trying to make this kind of film right now (this is. the most common). But I'm truly trying. to see what I can do to adapt and find people who want. to attach. The issue doesn't seem to be with my story, it usually resonates with most of them. Especially, now that I use all my resources available to vet the careers of people I. pitch to. Today, I got a producer that said he was blown away by my story and that he loved it, but he didn't request it. I've had a handful of requests, and most of them send me to their emails to send it. I'm still waiting on quite a few replies. If you have any suggestions on how I get these scripts to move quicker, please, I'm all ears. And I know it sounds like I'm being a big baby for having positive feedback and getting requests--I'm thankful for all of the positive feedback--but I know these pieces sing bc I worked. my ass off on. them and got coverage when I could afford it. I've rewritten and edited countless times, and every instinct and deep collaboration I've had screams yes, these films belong to make it to the promised land.

Look, the truth is, some of them might be telling you the truth, some might just be being nice. knowing who youre pitching to is great, very important. knowing the selling points of your script is equally important. but you have to know that some companies arent REALLY looking, theyre just open to pitches. Or the story may still need work. it being a good story and it being a sellable, marketable story are 2 very diff things.

Thank you both for posting. And Danny, you're right that there is a plethora of reasons to give someone positive feedback and some of them are just not looking to make anything right now. And Nashwanda's right about not giving up because I'm close to finding the right people for these scripts. It's in the air everytime I pitch. The promised land is just moments away.
