Hello everyone,
I’ve been on this wonderfully collaborative website since the early days of Stage 32.
Did you know the name comes about as a homage to the old RKO soundstage 17 where Orson Welles filmed the classic masterpiece, Citizen Kane. That specific stage is now known as Paramount’s Stage 32.
So, Stage 32 is a global worldwide ‘Stage’ for actors, crew and anyone involved in this industry to share stories, ideas and formulate projects, with support from others. What a great platform Richard Botto has gifted us.
So, that’s the backstory. Now for me…
I had no aspiration to act, being painfully shy as a child and teen back in the UK. So, years later after moving to New Zealand, where I still live now, I started doing background work, took an acting course for a year, got signed to a top agency and 17 years later, I have 60 or so film credits on my resume, covering short films, feature films and some music videos too.
As a follow-on from screen acting, I discovered my passion for voice acting. My grounding in screen technique gave me the skills to develop a character in given circumstance. I always feel voice acting is traditional acting first, the foundation. The voice is a layer on top of this. The walls and the roof in construction terms.
if you have any projects that require a maturing, deeper and resonant voice, neutral British (English), then please do reach out as I love to collaborate.
You can hear some samples at my personal
acting website and drop me a message through there or send me an email.
Oh and a side note, I thoroughly recommend Crispin Freeman’s ‘Voice Acting Mastery’ podcast. The interviews with established voice actors are so insightful and Crispin himself is a revelation in terms of enlightenment and knowledge on anything voice acting.
I wish everyone here all the success in the world in your chosen path and thank you reading my introduction.
As Steve Martin once said ‘Be so good they can’t ignore you’.

Hey Sean - congrats on your success! I don't have voice acting/acting needs right now, but I'll keep you in mind. Thanks for the backstory on how Stage 32 got its name. I LOVE Citizen Kane. Brilliant. Esp the shot of him playing in the snow through the window.

Great to have you Sean! I didn't know Stage32 was called because of that - I saw the film but had no idea about this. It's great to have more voice actors here!
