Hi everyone,
I’m Laura J Harris — a UK-based writer, actor, director, and composer, and Artistic Director of The Boaty Theatre Company.
My work lives at the intersection of character-driven storytelling and emotionally grounded spectacle. I’m particularly drawn to stories that reclaim underrepresented voices, with a focus on complex female protagonists, queer narratives, and the space where history and myth collide.
At the moment, I’m developing a premium historical drama series, Flame of the Iceni, centred on Boudica’s rebellion. The project has recently received recognition through international festival selections and screenwriting awards, which has been a really encouraging step as I begin taking it out to market.
Alongside this, I’m adapting my psychological thriller novel Splintered for screen, and I’m nearing completion of the first draft of my current novel, Lord, What Fools These Mortals Be — a mythologically inspired, character-led story exploring power, agency, and the subtle influence of the gods.
Alongside my creative work, I run AUTHENTICRAFT, where I support writers and actors in developing their craft and confidence, and I’m currently completing an MA in Voice Pedagogy, focusing on inclusive voice training for trans and non-binary performers.

Interesting journey and I wish you well. Intrigued to learn what your strategies are for taking Flame of the Iceni to market and how you fair with the process. It seems to me it can be long and frustrating. Best wishes.
